Robert Viëtor director as of September 1st

The board of the Iona Stichting is pleased to announce that it has appointed Robert Viëtor as director as of September 1st 2020. He will fulfill and strengthen this role together with Christine Geertsema.

Robert studied political science and pedagogy / educational science in Amsterdam, worked as a group leader in youth care and was an adviser and trainer at Rijnconsult, Bureau de Bont and the Christian Pedagogical Study Center (CPS) for 16 years.

The past 12 years he was director of the Faculty of Education of Leiden University. During that period, Hogeschool Helicon merged with Leiden and the VPA, Eurythmy Academy and the Music in Education Course became part of the faculty. At the time of the arrival of the programs in Leiden, the Value (s) professorship of private school education was also established. Robert was previously a board member of the free schools in Alkmaar, Oudorp and Bergen. He is now active as a supervisor in education.

The Iona Stichting has been a valuable and reliable partner for Robert in recent years. He commits himself to the foundation with the intention to work together with the office and board to continue the valuable work. Robert is looking forward to meetings with donors and initiators.

He lives with his wife and two children in Bergen aan Zee.

Christine Geertsema will remain acting director until September 1st. The board welcomes Robert and looks forward to the cooperation.
